Based on its architectural features, the building dates back to the late 18th century and is an integral part of the history of Garibaldi’s epic, to which the town of Calatafimi is linked. This is demonstrated by the two marble plaques affixed to the façade and inside the building—the first from May 16, 1860, the second from July 1862—bearing inscriptions attesting to Garibaldi’s stay in Calatafimi and in the Casa Pampalone. Inside the museum, you can admire historically important documents from the period, memorabilia belonging to Garibaldi’s and Bourbon followers, photographs of Garibaldi’s men with manuscripts, and photos from the historic filming of the Battle of Calatafimi on the 100th anniversary. The house is furnished with furniture from the Risorgimento.
