Theater Felice Cavallotti

Opposite the former Convent of San Francesco is the “Felice Cavallotti” Municipal Theater. It was built in 1881 by the distinguished Calatafimi citizen, Knight Nicolò Rindello, a patriot and artist who served as City Councilor.

The theater’s interior, featuring two tiers of boxes, a gallery, and an auditorium, has undergone various renovations and alterations, including adaptations for film screenings.

Dedicated to Felice Cavallotti, a man of letters and a member of parliament who lived between 1842 and 1898, it has operated in the past with honor and fervor from the Calatafimi public, who have always had a great interest in the theater. The theater, currently disused, will reopen its doors to visitors in 2013. The theater will host an exhibition of paintings and historical objects.
